Missouri Workers’ Compensation:  Recent Statutory Changes and How to Maximize Reimbursement Through Subrogation

Matthew Murphy is a two time graduate of University of Missouri. He graduated from Mizzou with his JD in 1998 after obtaining a degree in civil engineering. During his entire legal career he has been involved in the Missouri workers' compensation system. For over ten years he represented injured claimants. This time was followed as General Counsel to Missouri's Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. In 2008, Matthew was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge in the Division of Workers' Compensation serving in the Cape Girardeau office. In 2011, Matthew returned to private practice exclusively representing employers and insurers before the Division of Workers' Compensation with the firm Vessell Bridges Murphy Law Offices. They have offices in Columbia, Springfield and Dexter Missouri.

Drone Liability Issues

Robert Hopson is Vice President – Aviation Specialist at Lockton Companies, where he manages aviation programs for the Kansas City office. Rob has extensive expertise in the complete placement of complex aviation programs. He is also a pilot with experience in several single-engine and multi-engine aircrafts.  

Liability issues for entities operating drones in the course of their business. Discussion topics will include recent developments with respect to operational rules from the Federal Aviation Administration and how these rules impact operators of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Rob will provide an in-depth look at the current aviation insurance marketplace including how premiums are determined and what liability limits are available to UAS operators, and provide insights on liability exposures with respect to bodily injury/property damage and personal injury. He’ll also review some strategies for managing these risks.
